MOTTO OF NCC: UNITY AND DISCIPLINE

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Army wing, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, belongs to 1 (TN) Medical Unit NCC. With the blessings from our Founder Chancellor  Dr. JEPPIAAR., M.A., B.L., Ph.D., Army Wing NCC was started in the year 2012.

Our NCC activities are executed with the strength of 52 Army Wing cadets headed by Associate NCC Officer Lieutenant P Chandrasekar. All our NCC activities are closely monitored by our Commanding Officer Lieutentnat Colonel T Ranganathan. 18 parades (105 Periods) are to be conducted every year, each parade consisting of 6 periods. Officers and Posted Instructional Staffs from 1 (TN) Medical Unit NCC are giving the training to our cadets with great enthusiasm and zeal. In addition to that Adventure, Social and Regular NCC activities are being carried out by our Associate NCC Officer and NCC Cadets.

WHY TO JOIN NCC?          “AS A ARMY WING NCC CADET YOU WILL”:

  • Get a chance to represent Tamil Nadu in Inter Directorate Competitions and Republic day camp at Delhi.
  • Be able to visit places, participate in national level camps, trekking&mountaineering and participate in nation building community services.

MERITS OF ARMY WING ‘C’ CERTIFICATE:

  • 100 Vacancies every year for NCC cadets in officers training academy (Army) Chennai.
  • No AFCAT / UPSC written examination, direct SSB interview.
  • Preference is given by various state Governments to the NCC ‘B’/’C’ certificate holders for recruitment in following departments:Police service, Transport department, Forest department, Excise department, etc.,& other private multinational companies prefer NCC certificate holders for recruitments.
