The campus is well within the limits of the City of Chennai and is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Salai (Old Mahabalipuram Road – OMR). Sathyabama is within 20 Kms from Airport and 25 Kms from Dr.MGR Chennai Central Railway Station. Nearest Sub-Urban Railway Station is Tambaram.

4. Is there any exam to get admission into Sathyabama?

Yes, Sathyabama conducts ALL INDIA SATHYABAMA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION for the admission into Under-graduate Engineering Programmes (SAEEE), which is usually conducted in the month of April, every year.

5. What is the procedure for NRI admissions?

NRI admission is possible based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination. All other necessary documents such as migration certificate, equivalence certificates shall be produced at the time of admission.

Sathyabama has been granted the Deemed to be University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. 14. How about sports facilities in the camps?

Excellent Sports infrastructure is available for the students to excel in the sports. Sports facilities include play courts, playgrounds for Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Ball badminton, Food ball, Tennis, Hockey, Cricket and other indoor and outdoor games. We encourage students’ participation in the National and International Tournaments and many of them have brought laurels to the institution.

15. What measures are taken to ensure safety on campus?

Sathyabama is committed to creating a safe and comfortable campus for its students. Security Personnel are available 24/7 in the campus. Entry and exit of everyone including student, faculty, staff, visitors and others are monitored by the Security Personnel. 24/7 CCTV surveillance is also done to ensure safety.

16. What are the facilities available in the campus?

Student life in the campus is at its best with sophisticated infrastructure facilities pertinent to sports and 24X7 services like Medical room, Bank, ATMs, Emergency Vehicles and also facilities such as Computer lab, telephone/ fax, Stores, Fitness studio, Indoor mess, Spa, Courier service, Photocopying and Binding facility.

17. How is food at Sathyabama?

Food is hygienic and good with dishes covering North Indian and South Indian cuisine. Separate Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian mess halls are available in the campus, for boys and girls.

18. How do students get International Exposure?

Students are exposed to international learning experience through Semester Abroad Programme, Student Exchange Programme, International Internship and International Summer School Programme. The Centre for Academic Partnership and International Relations co-ordinates with the Partnering Universities, to facilitate these International Study Programmes. The Centre will also support if students’ wish to pursue a semester abroad at a university of their choice. 24. Is there a support system to help students?

The Student help desk of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology helps the students in resolving the issues faced by them, during their course of study at the Institution. We have a full-fledged Placement Cell, which monitors the employment opportunities in various domains and invites the recruiters for campus recruitment of final year students at our Institute. National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC), Red Ribbon Club, Community Development Cell, Eco Club and Rotaract club of the Institution are involved in various community services like planting of trees, cleaning of beaches, organizing blood donation camps and medical camps. To instill patriotism and to develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among students, participation in Non- NCC, NSS and YRC are encouraged. It is considered as Non-Credit Course, which is stated in the Final Grade sheet.
