Technology Interventions in adopted villages

Science on Wheels

We live in a society which primarily focuses on result oriented education. Therefore, there is a void emanating in young minds which leads to the lack of interest in investigations and innovations and break through. To fill the gap of the thought process, humanism, spirit of enquiry and reform , it is very much essential to motivate them by providing a scientific environment by ‘mobile science laboratory’ particularly to the rural students.

Rural Industrialization and  Entrepreneurship Development

This ritual waste is very common throughout India. Centre for Waste Management, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai has taken steps to collect ritual waste and has succeeded in making incense sticks adapting the 3R concept of Recovery, Recycle and Reuse. Collecting the ritual waste and processing it to obtain a value added material does not only provide options to make the environment clean but also serves as a  potential for  Rural Industrialization and entrepreneurship development, by initiating this objective in smaller demographic zones in Kumuzhi

Rural Non-Invasive Primary Health Kiosk

The health kiosk will be of much use to the people to know their vital body parameters which in turn would give them an awareness of their health status. This would enable them to take precautionary health measures. Since there is no PHCs or sub-centre in Thenmelpakkam village, a nurse visits the village once in a week to give vaccination and medicines to younger children and see the health condition of pregnant women. The health kiosk would definitely pave way for a healthier and safer life for the rural people.
