With a global network of over 423,000 members across more than 160 countries, IEEE fosters innovation through its highly cited publications, international conferences, globally adopted technology standards, and extensive professional and educational initiatives. IEEE serves as a trusted global authority and knowledge hub for engineering, computing, and emerging technologies.
About IEEE Sathyabama Student Branch
The IEEE Student Branch (SB) of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) was established in September 1991 and has grown into a highly active and vibrant student body over the years. The branch continuously attracts enthusiastic student members who play a pivotal role in strengthening its technical and professional activities. Starting with 21 members, the branch expanded to 375 members by the end of 1999 and earned global recognition as the 5th largest IEEE Student Branch in the world and the 2nd largest in the Asia-Pacific region. The branch has also achieved the distinction of largest student membership in the years 2012 and 2013 and has received certificates of appreciation for its significant contributions toward the advancement of IEEE and the engineering profession. The IEEE Sathyabama Student Branch consistently organizes workshops, hands-on training sessions, special lectures, and technical events on cutting-edge technologies, enabling students to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional competencies.
