Mr. R. Elangovan  Pandian, Head of Operations, JK Fenner India Limited has delivered a power lecture on “Industry expectation for fresh Engineers and Lean Manufacturing” which was organized by the Faculty of Mechanicals on 11th July 2014.  His optimistic and motivation talk for budding engineers was based on his experience in Aeronautical and Automobile engineering fields. In addition to this, his lecture on Lean Manufacturing was an eye opener for students in the field of production engineering. Another fascinating talk by him about the evolvement of Japanese industries really attracted the students.

Mr. Jipu Jose James, National Director, PDS (INDIA)


Mr. Jipu Jose James, National Director, PDS (INDIA) – Head Construction Management, Jones Lang LaSalle India delivered a Technical talk on “Management in Construction” as part of the Power Lecture Series organized by the Faculty of Building & Environment, on 15th July 2014. Mr. James quoted that “Creation Is Divine” and elucidated the opportunities ahead for the Architects and Civil Engineers in shaping today’s world.   Being in JLL, a leading International Property Consultants, he highlighted the multiple roles of project managers in handling the challenging project scenarios and the corporate risk environment.  He also stated that Project Managers are the glue who holds the long, expensive and complex projects together and insisted the necessity for students to get involved in training programs through interns in leading construction firms.

Mr.Shravan Kumaran (11years) and Mr.Sanjay Kumaran (13years), the CEO and President of ‘Go Dimensions’


On 18th  July 2014,  Faculty of Electrical and Electronics organized a Power Lecture on “Innovation Possibilities”which was delivered by the two tech savvy brothersMr.Shravan Kumaran (11years) and Mr.Sanjay Kumaran (13years), the CEO and President of ‘Go Dimensions’, who were accompanied by their parents, Mr.Kumaran Surendran and Mrs.Jyothi Kumaran. The youngest application developers of India, Mr.Shravan and Mr.Sanjay shared their experiences in developing various mobile applications with a presentation. They mentioned that Q Basic learning, Java from internet and their Mac Book helped them to develop various mobile applications. Few apps are Catch me Cop, Alphabets Board, Colour Pallete, Prayer Palnet, etc.

They also talked about their future beta version of thin, light weight multitasking tablet. Later they interacted with the students and shared their views. The Father Mr.Kumaran Surendran was an Alumni of 1994 CSE batch of our University addressed the gathering. He commemorated his golden days at Sathyabama and the value of discipline learnt at that time and appreciated our Chancellor’s endeavor in the rapid growth of infrastructure compared to other institutions.
