Self Study Report The University’s infrastructure includes more than 220 class rooms, laboratories, drawing halls, workshops, central and department libraries, hostels, audio visual halls, spacious dining halls and sports facilities. University has 4 Boys and 5 Ladies Hostels with Mess, Laundry and Fitness center at free of cost. Student life in the University is at its best with state of art facilities pertained to sports and 24X7 services like Medical room, ATMs, Emergency Vehicles and also facilities such as Post office, Stores, Courier service, Xerox and Binding sections. A state of art central library with world class infrastructure in an area of 1.5 Lakh square feet is another milestone in the success saga of Sathyabama University. The Central Library consists of around 4 Lakh numbers of books with a spectrum of titles, back volumes, Ph.D thesis and various reputed magazines. This is equipped with a Digital library section, OPAC system, audio visual roomsand seven conference halls with CCTV facilities. It also consists of nearly 10 years newspapers for the reference. Advisory Bureau of Higher Studies (ABHS) is another wing in the Central Library with the collection of 12,000 books other than curriculum related books of the main library and ABHS is involved in the training needs of students such as offering foreign language courses and certificate courses. ABHS always ensures to bridge the gap between the International Institutions and our students, in the process of which recently, an “Abroad University Mela” has been organized in collaboration with the embassies in Chennai. University takes pride in having ICT enabled working atmosphere in most of its functional units involved in teaching, learning, research, administration and governance. The state of art infrastructure in the “International Research Centre (IRC) with chain of exceptional laboratories had led to the enhanced academic and research intent among the faculty and students. IRC is 6 NAAC for Quality and Excellence in Higher Education
